Beginning in 2013 Sunday admission will be reduced by half for all specialty shows, joining Spring and Fall Carlisle where half-price Sunday has been in effect. In addition, parking just outside of Gate 5 will be free (Sunday only).

Also, for the Carlisle Ford Nationals, Thursday will be branded as an early bird day and is an opportunity for anyone interested in the swap meet, car corral and midway aspects of the weekend to get a jump on their shopping brethren. This feature costs full price at the gate, but there will be no parking fees in Carlisle-owned and operated lots.

Finally, all children age 12 and under will be admitted free at Carlisle. Get a jump on the event, snag a deal and save some cash while coming to Carlisle!

As a bonus, we offer the use of a 20’ X 20’ tent to those clubs who register 25 vehicles or more. These tents are a great place to take a break and they make a great club headquarters for the weekend. Larger clubs may be eligible for a bigger tent. The Carlisle Ford Nationals celebrate many things. This year, one of those celebrations is a gathering of High Performance 289s. In addition to the display itself, you can meet NHRA D/Stock class Champion Milo Coleman. Coleman will be on hand with his 1963 racer and Championship trophy. The car is traveling from Oregon too, proving the event has a far reach. Not only will there be nearly 20 cars within the special display, there will be a special 289 showfield class. The first 100 registered cars will receive a commemorative sticker, symbolizing their involvement in the weekend.

For 2013 we're celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the High Performance 289 Engine with a very unique display, never assembled like this before. In 1963, Ford Motor Company released a no compromise, high revving “Challenger” V8. In addition to this engine becoming a dominant presence in road racing and among performance enthusiasts, it was offered as optional equipment in production Fairlanes, Comets and Mustangs. Known as the “K-Code,” we cannot forget Cobras, GT40s and Shelby GT-350s also to be included in this reunion. If you have a High Performance 289 powered vehicle and have interest in displaying it as part of our reunion display, please take a moment to check out the classes listed below and register!

When you come onsite this year, you may notice license plates from all over North America, including Canada. Many groups and clubs are holding their national meet at this year’s Ford Nationals. There will be multiple gatherings at Carlisle, including, but not limited to the following: a 50th Anniversary High Performance 289 gathering, Team Shelby with its First Annual Shelby Grand National Event, SVTOA and their 20th Anniversary celebration of SVT, the Merkur Club of America and Focus Rising with their annual national events, GranTorinoSport.org and their national event and the Mustang Club of America comes back to Carlisle with cars from all over. Be sure to check out all of these great groups.

A very popular name within automotive circles is coming to Carlisle courtesy of the Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club (SEOC). Steve Saleen was born in California and attended USC, earning a degree in business. He parlayed his education into a booming career that saw him work with the Porsche Owners Club before becoming a competitive racer. In 1980, he entered the Formula Atlantic series and was third in the final series standings. After that, he advanced to the SCCA Trans-Am series in '82, driving a Ford Mustang. From there, his passion for the Mustang grew immensely, culminating with the founding of Saleen Autosport in 1983 and subsequent building of the first Saleen Mustang.

In 1984, the car was completed, tested and raced against some of the world's top cars, finishing first in its class at the Mosport 24 hour endurance race. Years later, Saleen formed a race team with comedian Tim Allen and driver Bob Bondurant. The three raced Saleen Mustangs in the SCAA World Challenge. Inducted into the Mustang Hall of Fame in 1996 along side Carroll Shelby, Saleen remains active today, primarily with his namesake company, Saleen Inc.

From 1993 to 2013, Ford Motor Company put out some very special high performance vehicles known as SVT’s. There were multiple models of SVT Mustangs, two generations of the Lightning, the SVT Focus and SVT Contour, the SVT Raptor, the Ford GT and in recent years, the Shelby Mustang. This display will be a must-see and a real look at Ford’s performance vehicle division. Expect multiple SVT engineers in attendance and be ready to meet and greet the owners of the vehicles they helped bring on to the market.

Marcie Cipriani and The SVT Owners Association will be heading up this display and will be located just outside the SVT Display in Building Y. Stop by and join them during the event.

Carlisle Events and the Downtown Carlisle Association present the third annual Ford Parade and Downtown Street Party on Saturday, June 8.

Automotive enthusiasts, specifically those interested in the FOMOCO brands, will line the streets of downtown Carlisle to see a wide array of cars showcased during the Carlisle Ford Nationals. The parade field is limited to only 400 Ford, Lincoln and/or Mercury vehicles.

The parade will once again be led by a select group of Ford officials showing off some of their hot new products! In addition to the parade, spectators will enjoy specialty vehicles, a wide variety of food, fanfare and quality live entertainment.

Register now for the showfield and while doing so, be sure to pre-register for the parade. Don't miss out on this great Saturday night attraction. All vehicles must be staged by 6:30pm for departure.

Drag Racing takes place on Friday of Ford weekend for anyone interested in taking a trip down the 1320 (in this case 660). Racing takes place at the 1/8 mile, NHRA sanctioned track of nearby Quarter Aces Drag-O-Way. Watching the action and offering tips will be a collection of drag racing’s most notable stars. They know a host of tricks of the trade they have perfected over the years and are eager to share them. It all starts on the grounds, then carries over to the track.

“Young Guns at Carlisle” is a class limited to owners age 25 and younger, male or female. The class is open to all makes & models of FOMOCO produced vehicles. Entrants must be the registered owner of the vehicle. All “Young Guns” are located together in an area reserved exclusively for them on the National Parts Depot Showfield. Judging is done via People’s Choice, just like the other classes and it is a great way for younger people in the hobby to meet and show off what they are doing with their cars. Ultimately, this class is designed for the heirs of the hobby to strut their stuff!

This marquee event will be held June 5–8, 2013 at Summit Point, West Virginia and continuing on to Carlisle for the 2013 Carlisle Ford Nationals. While Team Shelby has enjoyed the excitement of the Shelby Bash in Las Vegas, Nevada, they'll now host another annual national event, The Team Shelby Grand Nationals.

The 2013 Team Shelby Grand Nationals boasts two exciting days of track action along with a cruise, grand party, car show and many other activities. You will not want to miss this historic event.

Annually, the north field at Carlisle is laced with Ford Gran Torino cars made popular by the TV show Starsky & Hutch. This year, not only will that trend continue, it'll be enhanced with a pair directly from Hollywood. Within the Building T Invitational Display, you can check out a '76 Torino from the TV show ('75-'79) starring David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser as well as a '74 Torino from the 2004 movie starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. These cars come to Carlisle via two different enthusiasts who are very excited to share their piece of automotive history with you. When you walk through Building T in 2013, be sure to check out these two great rides. Best of all, it's the first known time a movie car and TV car from the franchise appear together.

This year, we've got the right formula for fun and a serious education on what the ever popular Ford Raptor can do. Join Ford Racing and Ford Motor Company as they host Ford F-150 SVT Raptor ride-alongs with drivers from Miller Motorsports Park. Live music is a big part of the Saturday night Downtown Ford Parade and Street Party. Appearing on the Red 102.3 Stage from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. is Chris Woodward. Woodward, a Three Springs, Pennsylvania native (Huntingdon County), is an energetic performer with songs that will have you singing along.

Chris has played the 2012 Downtown Carlisle Ford Parade as well as places like Hershey Park, the Bloomsburg Fair, the NASCAR Pocono 500 and many other fairs and events regionally. He’s opened up for country artists like Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, Jessica Andrews, Lonestar and many more. Blackwater Jam is the ultimate, no holds-barred Southern Rock and Blues band from South Central PA. They love to hear the crowd sing along with essential Southern Rock jams from Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Outlaws, Allman Brothers, ZZ Top and others. Check them out in the JFC Staffing lot, located at the intersection of Pitt St. and High St. in downtown Carlisle. Their session takes place Saturday night as part of the Downtown Carlisle Parade.

Carlisle Events has a long standing partnership with the nearby Carlisle Theatre. That relationship has seen multiple acts booked for the theatre make stopovers at the fairgrounds in the past and the tradition continues with Boulder Canyon in 2013.

Boulder Canyon is fronted by Chris Collins and as part of their session at the theatre, will pay tribute to John Denver by carrying on his musical legacy. In addition, the group helps further his beliefs in the need for embracing the love of nature.

Before Boulder Canyon takes the stage at the Carlisle Theatre on Friday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m., they'll make an appearance as part of the Carlisle Ford Nationals from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Stop by the Red 102.3 stage to meet the group, get an autograph, hear them play a handful of songs from their set list and best of all, snag a ticket to their evening performance downtown. A ticket for the theatre show is $30 per adult. Students with a valid ID can gain access for $10.

No Carlisle event would be complete without the burnout contest. Bragging rights are up for grabs once again at the Carlisle Ford Nationals. Join us as we crown the “Carlisle King (or Queen) of the Hill.” Pre-registration is required at Guest Services. A show sticker (i.e. registered for vending or show vehicle), driver’s license and proof of insurance are required. The contest is limited to 10 vehicles with each getting 3 minutes to burnout. The Team Shelby North East Region once again proudly presents the Ms. Carlisle Ford Nationals 2013 beauty contest. Gather around the stage and support the field of young ladies as the compete for cash and the crown of Ms. Carlisle. Registration is available Friday and Saturday leading up to the contest by stopping by Guest Services, near the main grandstand. The winner will also get to show off her crown as part of the Downtown Carlisle Parade immediately following the evening stage activities.

The only thing better than a show-ready Ford is a show-ready Ford on the race track! The onsite Carlisle Autocross allows drivers to run the road course and compare their times to each other. Registration is required and the fun takes place Sunday only. The charge for each vehicle entry is $20. Enthusiasts are able to make 3 timed runs consisting of 2 laps each. Times are provided to compare with other drivers. Drivers are required to have a legal state driver’s license. You aren't driving for an award, rather bragging rights are up for grabs.

Axcelerated Motorsports is once again the official Dyno of the Carlisle Ford Nationals in 2013! The Dyno machine will be running on Friday and Saturday only! The Ford Nationals is fun for the entire family and we did not forget the kids. In the Kids at Carlisle Activity Center Area, we had crafts for kids and parents to enjoy together. We also had lots of play activities that “wowed” the young ones.
