Allentown Auto Mania a Resounding Success in 2013
Carlisle Events’ Backing Combined with Automotive Enthusiasm Make Weekend Best Ever
Monday, January 21, 2013
For more than 20 years, Allentown Auto Mania has taken place at the Allentown Fairgrounds in eastern Pennsylvania. For some of those years, there was one event promoter, for many more there was another. Now, under the guidance of Carlisle Events, Allentown Auto Mania moves forward with unmatched power and resources, helping to make it a great way to start the Pennsylvania- based schedule for Carlisle Events and the Miller families.
As the gates of Ag Hall opened at noon on Friday, enthusiasts from the region over walked aisle upon aisle of automotive pieces and parts, collectibles and merchandise. Best of all, with temperatures near 50, the footprint of the event was able to comfortably expand to just outside of the complex, making the 60,000 square foot event filled to capacity. Vendors and guests familiar to events at Carlisle and those who simply attend at Allentown were onsite. Each vendor table saw a constant stream of customers daily. Items like Mopar oil pans, Ford specific fuel lines, bumpers, garage and floor mats, videos, vintage magazine, toy cars and more were all offered. There were also a few food vendors positioned within Ag Hall, giving everyone some great culinary options throughout the weekend.
What made Auto Mania even more special was the nearby family farmers market. Hundreds of vendors and thousands of patrons interacted over the course of the weekend. This neighboring attraction proved to be a great outlet for automotive enthusiasts to browse the market products and grab a bite to eat, while also allowing for anyone who came to Allentown for the market to swing by and experience the swap meet atmosphere.
All told, the success of the weekend made the 2013 edition of Auto Mania the best of all time, surpassing its closest rival some 13 years ago. “What a fantastic weekend,” said event manager Bill Miller III. “From the perfect weather, record sales reported by the vendors and the largest attendance in the 23 year history of the event, it really was one for the record books.” Miller continued that “It just goes to show what the Carlisle name means to the collector car hobby. I really would like to thank the staffs from Carlisle and the Allentown Fairgrounds, the vendors and our invited guests for a fantastic and history- making weekend. I encourage everyone to 'like' us on Facebook. This way, everyone knows what we have going on and how they can be part of this great weekend. We can’t wait to do it again next year, January 17-19, 2014.”
