Frantic Ford/War Horse Dragsters to Square off in Carlisle

It’ll be a “Funny” Weekend

The entertainment level will be high and the action intense. Join Carlisle Events, hundreds of Ford enthusiasts and multiple high-octane drag racing cars at Quarter Aces Drag-O-Way in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania on Friday, June 3 as part of the 17th annual Carlisle Ford Nationals.


The Drag-O-Way action beings around noon with an afternoon full of racing; however, the centerpiece of the day commences at approximately 6 p.m. with a battle between the Frantic Ford Funny Car and War Horse Racing. Each team will be looking to assault the competition in 2011 and drivers George Reidnauer and Bob Daly will be on hand as things rev up in front of their Funny Car drag racing season.


In conjunction with the Ford Nationals, you have a chance to meet both teams and watch them compete. Frantic Ford along with War Horse Racing will be on display on the showfield, giving you the opportunity to meet the teams, drivers and pick up some gear so you can support your favorite ride. In addition to being on display and watching them square off on the track to see who is fastest, the Frantic Ford and War Horse will be available for photos and more.


The Frantic Ford car is a low-slung recreation of the 1977 Mustang II while War Horse is a 1978 Mustang II. After an extensive period of time away from the sport, the legendary Frantic Ford name will once again make a return to active competition at venues throughout the U.S. Partners Bobby Frey, Al Liebmann, Lou Sgro and George Reidnauer have billed the upcoming debut of these fine machines as the Frantic Ford "Double Thunder" Funny Car Tour that also includes Lou Sgro who pilots the 2011 Ford Mustang Cobra at NHRA races.


On top of the drag racing action, the Carlisle Ford Nationals offers the entire family a chance to experience the legacy of Henry Ford and his namesake automobiles.
