Big Rigs in the Spotlight with Two Showfields, Celebrity Customizers and an Antique Big Rig Display

The Carlisle Truck Nationals: August 6 – 8 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds

Situated at the cross-section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 81, Carlisle, Pennsylvania is one of the largest trucking hubs in the USA. As a main tributary for North American trucking and home of Carlisle Events (one of the largest automotive events producers in the world) it only makes sense that the Carlisle Truck Nationals adds more long-hauling, 18-wheel rolling, driving America excitement to the Carlisle Truck Nationals. Everything from lowered compact “mini-trucks” with their frames dragging the street to monster trucks crushing tiny compact cars below will blanket the 102-acre Carlisle PA Fairgrounds on the weekend of August sixth through the eighth for the action-packed Carlisle Truck Nationals. All aspects of the collector truck hobby will once again be represented in Carlisle but this year the big rigs, semis, long-haulers, 18-wheelers and transports will take the main stage. The Carlisle Big Rig Show N’ Shine is a smaller show within the larger Carlisle Truck Nationals that is expected to grow tremendously this year with the help of two showfields, celebrity big rig customizers and a bigger and better vending area.

Special guests for this year’s Carlisle Big Rig Show N’ Shine include Elizabeth Truck Center. This crew rolls out some of the most amazing custom big rigs in the industry. Elizabeth Truck Center and their chromed-out long-haulers will once again be at the All-Truck Nationals all weekend to meet with fans and show off what they can do with a big rig canvass.

Elizabeth Truck Center won’t be the only big name in the big rig industry at this year’s Carlisle Truck Nationals. Kelvin Locklear from the CMT show, Trick My Truck will be on hand to meet and greet fans. This year’s will also feature some of the major players in both the custom and working big rig world; including Elizabeth Truck Center, Kenworth of PA, FASS Fuel, SLC Lighting and more. As a whole, all of the Carlisle Events are known for being a tremendous buying and selling atmosphere and the Carlisle Big Rig Show N’ Shine is no exception.

With classes for bobtails, combos, wreckers, dumps, and specialty trucks – both working and non-working - Carlisle Events has provided a great judged show for Big Rigs for many years. New in 2010 is a non-judged showfield. Because many drivers are coming through Carlisle, Carlisle Events is inviting those drivers to park their rigs on the fairgrounds and spend some downtime at the Truck Nationals to enjoy hot food, showers and the best family-friendly truck show in the country.

In addition to the Carlisle Big Rig Show N’ Shine, the Carlisle Truck Nationals will be packed with entertainment including a vintage truck display from the Antique Truck Historical Society, a gathering of classic military gun trucks and Jeeps from the US Army Heritage Center and monster truck shows for the entire family.
