Carlisle GM Nationals 2010: June 25-27 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds

Papa John’s Camaro, Test Drives, ACA Nationals, the Supercar Showroom and Much More!

CARLISLE, PA – The Carlisle GM Nationals, one of the largest and most exciting all-GM events in the world, will once again showcase vehicles produced by General Motors on the 102-acre Carlisle PA Fairgrounds. The National Parts Depot showfield will be filled with top quality restored classics, original muscle cars and modified high performance new models - organized by year, make and model. The Carlisle GM Nationals will also feature indoor displays of concepts, customs, performance and historically significant vehicles; test drives from Chevrolet; drag racing on Friday night; and giveaway drawings for a vehicle and engine.

Papa will be in the house . . . or at least his original 1971 Z/28 Camaro will be. Papa John Schnatter, Founder, Chairman and co-CEO of Papa John’s Pizza, will be sending his cherished Camaro, which he sold 26 years ago to help finance his father’s tavern where he started Papa John’s.. In August of last year, Schnatter was reunited with his prized possession after summer-long nationwide search. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the original 1971 Z/28. This is the first time that Papa John’s original Z/28 will be presented at an automotive event for the general public.

If you’re hoping to take Papa John’s Camaro for a cruise, you’re out of luck but the good news is that many new Camaros will be available for test drives! The GM Ride and Drive will be offered on Friday and Saturday of the event with free test drives of many of the newest GM models, including the new Synergy Green 2011 Camaro. Also available for test drives will be the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, the G-M-C Terrain and 2010 Buick Lacrosse.

Almost half of the GM Nationals showfield is made up of Camaros and the ACA (American Camaro Association) made up of over 140 Camaro clubs from North America will once again be hosting their ACA Nationals within the GM Nationals. Forty-nine judged Camaro categories, from non-judged to ACA Concours will once again be offered.

A special display of some of the rarest, most valuable and fastest performance GM vehicles, including Camaros, will be presented at this year’s GM Nationals. The Legendary Super Car Showroom presented by the Super Car Workshop and Arone Auto Restoration is an awesome display of GM performance models that were taken to the next level by select dealerships, including Berger, Yenko, Dana, Harrell, Gibb, Motion and Nickey. This Supercar Showroom will put a special emphasis on 1970 models, believed by many to be the high-water mark in factory performance.

The excitement continues with a shopping experience that is second to none, including a swap meet with a wide variety of vendors, an all-GM car corral and the Manufacturers Midway – featuring top names in restoration, aftermarket, custom and performance manufacturers. Vending and car corral spaces are still available.
