CARLISLE, PA – Carlisle Events - host to car, truck and motorcycle events at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, that attract half a million enthusiasts each year will host the 2011 Northeast Region Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge – at the Carlisle GM Nationals, June 24-26, 2011.
Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is an educational program aimed at high school students in automotive technology programs that stages teams from different schools in a head-to-head engine build competition. Each team consists of five students and an instructor or coach. The individual schools set standards and guidelines for involvement. Grades, attendance and skill level are all factors for participation. Through the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge, students get an opportunity to showcase their talents and knowledge gained during classroom sessions and workshops. The engine challenge provides opportunities to develop teamwork and to demonstrate the students’ skills, enthusiasm, and ingenuity.
The Carlisle Events family sees the partnership with Hot Rodders of Tomorrow as the perfect opportunity to both host an exciting and spectator friendly automotive competition and to continue to reach the up-and-coming automotive enthusiast. Ed Scholly, Associate Director – Business & Event Development stated, “We are excited about the opportunity to present the next generation of industry professionals at our events in Carlisle. The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge offers a great opportunity for students to develop their skills. Seeing this kind of program and opportunity outside of sports, academics and other traditional high school level educational programs is rare and because it is automotive and hobby related, we at Carlisle Events, just couldn’t pass it up. We hope to see a team coming through Carlisle take the national title, at the SEMA Show in the very near future.”
The staff of The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is 100% volunteer and cannot be thanked enough for the thousands of hours they donate to this great event every year.
