PA Home Gameroom Show Tilts Interest in Carlisle
Monday, July 31, 2006
CARLISLE, Pa. – After 33 years of producing the most exciting automotive shows in America, Carlisle Events is launching an exciting new venture at its new $2 million Carlisle Expo Center, located just 1 block from the 82-acre Carlisle Fairgrounds, home of Carlisle Events and its automotive show productions.
The new event is not as unrelated to the car show genre as one might think … it is the inaugural PA Home Gameroom Show, October 20-22, presented by Jimmy Rosen and Carlisle Events, and featuring pinballs, jukeboxes, gumball machines, neon signs, classic video games, Coke machines and much, much more.
To car collectors and owners of garages accented in memorabilia and vintage items of Americana, the addition of pinball machines, Coke dispensers, traffic signs, slot machines, video games, original artwork and neon fits right in.
This specialty event will showcase 114 vendor booths, with sellers and displays coming from all over the East Coast and Canada. Coin-operated machines, antique advertising, soda fountain memorabilia, gas pumps, ‘50s dcor and memorabilia will be spotlighted to provide something for every collector and home game room buyer.
There’s fun for the entire family. Food will be available, and for young and old alike, there will be a Pinball Lounge featuring dozens of free-play machines and a pinball tournament scheduled that is open to everyone, with some top-ranking players from around the country, competing for cash prizes.
And if that’s not enough, some lucky attendee will win a full operational $2500 Bally Corvette Pinball machine (no purchase necessary to enter).
Jimmy Rosen, Home Gameroom Show Promoter, says: “I’m very excited to be working with Carlisle Events and to be holding this show at their new Expo Center. So many people who are interested in collector cars are also avid collectors of pop culture and Americana – items that can be found at this show.
“But you don’t have to be a car collector to enjoy this show. Any homeowner will do. There has been an explosion of home recreational rooms over the years. Former drab basements, garages and other ignored spaces have been converted into active entertainment centers. People are not content with just a basic pool table or foosball table anymore. They are adding all kinds of equipment and accessories.
Depending on budget, some are remodeling rooms to look like old diners or soda fountains, using authentic-looking booths and vintage dispensers all the way down to the black-and-white checkered floor. Ultimately, your game room becomes a great place for family and friends to hang out.”
Rosen adds, “Come to this show and get lots of ideas.”
The inaugural PA Home Gameroom Show, will be held October 20-22, with daily admission for $10 … kids under 12 are free. Hours are: Friday, October 20 – 4 pm to 8 pm; Saturday, October 21 -- 9 am –5 pm and Sunday, October 21 – 9 am to 3 pm.
That’s the inaugural PA Home Gameroom Show at the Carlisle Expo Center, one block from the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds.
