Fall Carlisle Auction Exceeds Expectations
Tuesday, October 07, 2008
CARLISLE, PA – Carlisle Events presented the 3rd annual Fall Carlisle Collector Car Auction in Friday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th at the Carlisle Expo Center. The auction which ran simultaneously to the Fall Carlisle Collector Swap Meet and Corral, one of the largest events of its kind held at the Carlisle, PA Fairgrounds exceeded expectations and introduced a new all-original hour that was a complete success.
Carlisle Events surpassed their goal for the Fall Auction by selling almost 60% of the vehicles offered during prime auction hours, including a 1963 Chevrolet Bel Air that sold for $61,250. An addition to this year’s auction was an all-original hour, featuring many fine examples of top-line condition cars that are in showroom floor condition, decades after their introduction. When asked about the all-original hour Bill Miller III, Carlisle Events Senior Manager said “The all original hour went so well and we have had so much interest that we have already received consignments for the Spring Auction next year and we will definitely be expanding it for 2009.” He also talked about plans for the 2009 Carlisle Auction dates, “Two nights are being considered for next year’s schedule of auction events. Be sure to sign up for the Carlisle Auctions E-news letter to be the first to hear the confirmed plans for 2009.”
The Fall Auction is one of three auctions that the Carlisle Auctions hosts throughout the year. All three are held during major events held on the fairgrounds. The Spring Carlisle Auction takes place during Spring Carlisle show. The spring auction is similar to fall in that it will be entering its 4th year in 2009 and takes place with the huge swap meet. The Corvettes at Carlisle Auction takes place during the Corvettes at Carlisle show. Corvettes at Carlisle is the largest all-Corvette show in the world and the auction continues that theme by only offering America’s sports car from all generations.
