The whole automotive lot discovered by the thousands who attended Fall Carlisle

Held at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds October 1st through the 5th, the Fall Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet and Corral entered its 35th year as one of the world’s largest automotive events of its kind. Despite uncertainty in the American economy, Fall Carlisle saw more vendors, on-par attendance and the usual outstanding selection of cars and parts for sale covering 82 acres.

In addition to being THE place to purchase anything and everything imaginable from the automotive world, the reason automotive enthusiasts and collector car hobbyists come back to Carlisle year after the year is the tradition and camaraderie that has been built over 35 years. The buying, selling and trading done during the week includes classic cars and trucks for all budgets and in all conditions; rare and common parts, tools and manuals; automotive memorabilia - often celebrating nostalgia and Americana; and accessories and merchandise
donned to proudly display a person’s car maker loyalty.

The automotive excitement from the fairgrounds could also be felt two blocks across the street at the Carlisle Expo Center, where the third annual Fall Carlisle Collector Car Auction took place. Running in conjunction with Fall Carlisle on Friday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th, Carlisle Auctions surpassed their goal for the Fall Auction by selling almost 60% of the vehicles offered during prime auction hours, including a 1963 Chevrolet Bel Air that sold for $61,250.

A new addition to the already brimming week was the first-ever Fall Carlisle Cruise-In. The cruise-in which took place on Sunday of Fall Carlisle was designed to give all "Sunday Drivers" a chance to enjoy their last opportunity of the season to join a gathering of cars and friends at the Fairgrounds. In this first year all expectations were tremendously met as 106 vehicles traveled to the Carlisle PA fairgrounds to take part in the inaugural event. Awards were given to the top ten picks for Best Chrysler, GM, Ford, Truck, Bike, Import, Rod and Other.

Fall Carlisle not only contains the best opportunity to buy, bid on or show-off your favorite collector and classic cars every year but also includes a mouth-watering amount and variety of food. Over 30 food vendors worked the fairgrounds during Fall Carlisle selling everything from local favorites like Philadelphia cheese steak sandwiches and Pennsylvania Dutch chicken corn soup to typical fairground favorites like funnel cakes and caramel apples.

Next year’s Fall Carlisle will take place September 30th through October 4th.
