CAMAROS AT CARLISLE
The American Camaro Association…
The American Camaro Association is once again hosting the eleventh Camaro Nationals, here at the All-GM Nationals. 49 judged classes in 10 Levels, from non-judged to concours are offered for your special Camaro. Over 700 Camaros showed in 2008 and enjoyed being a part of history in the making. Goody Bags for Early Registrants, Hundreds of door Prizes, a Huge Classic Car Corral (Over 200 Cars), and Camaro Memorabilia Auction are all included.
We are getting very close to our goal of 1,000 F-bodies on the All-GM Nationals NPD Showfield. We challenge all Firebird owners, the other F-Body, and sister car to the Camaro to be here. The ACA has done their part in gathering over half of that number every year. While we didn’t quite make our goal of 1,000 F-Bodies for Scott in 2008, we’re confident we can hit it this year. See below.

DRAG RACE 101
Burning passions and the need to acquire a greater knowledge of drag racing was evident…
Our seminars on drag racing for those interested in taking a trip down the 1320 were packed in 2008 and we expect the same this year! The newly renovated Quarter Aces Drag-O-Way (formerly South Mountain Dragway) is 660 feet, or a one-eighth mile track. This program was for first-timers as well as those with the burning passion to acquire a greater knowledge of drag racing techniques. Conducting the seminars will be a collection of drag racing’s most notable stars, including Bruce Larson. They will teach the tricks of the trade that they have perfected over years of storied competition. It will start with a seminar on the fairgrounds. A “chalkboard” explanation of some the terms, tricks and techniques required to have a good drag racing experience will be given. From there, we will take a “Trip to the Track” where we will continue the lesson with passes on the track.

A Circle for Winners
The Exclusive Club for the Best at All-GM
Changes are new this year to the judging process at the All-GM Nationals. Experienced and qualified judges who are “car people” will judge classes, other than the Camaros which have their own established classes and judging process. The new judging format will include special awards as well. The award categories are still being developed. However, we do know that the award will include membership in an exclusive club formed especially for these very special vehicles, aptly named, “Winner’s Circle”. The award will be a jacket bearing the exclusive logo you see in the accompanying picture. Only winners of these special awards will become members of the “Winner’s Circle” and be eligible to receive these jackets. (However, in the interest of preserving family relations, they will be permitted to purchase additional jackets for family members.) We congratulate those folks that will become the first members of this new and very exclusive club.
|
On top of all this, we still have our very popular “regular” features. They include the Manufacturers Midway, Swap Meet Vendors, Awesome Food Vendors, Beauty Contest, Burnout Contest, Rock Crawling Display and the Dyno.
